On November 3 and 4, 2025, the International Association of Broadcasting (IAB) held its 50th Ordinary General Assembly in Brasília, Brazil, organized by its institutional member ABERT – Associação Brasileira de Emissoras de Rádio e Televisão.
During the meeting, which brought together representatives and delegations from more than 15 countries, the members of IAB’s Board of Directors for the 2025–2027 term were elected, reflecting the organization’s commitment to plurality, international cooperation, and the defense of private, free, and independent broadcasting.

With this election, IAB begins a new period of work aimed at strengthening the defense of freedom of expression, protecting the activities of media organizations, and promoting technological innovation in the broadcasting sector across the Americas.
Since its foundation in 1946, IAB has maintained a firm commitment to democracy, freedom of expression, and the protection of media outlets and journalists.
The work of the newly elected Board of Directors will be essential at a time that demands the defense of truth, the promotion of pluralism, and the consolidation of democracies in our region.
