World Radio Day 2025 - "Radio and climate change"
February 13 marks World Radio Day (WRD), proclaimed in 2011 by UNESCO Member States and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. This date commemorates the creation of United Nations Radio in 1946.
IAB was one of the pioneering associations to promote and contribute to the establishment of World Radio Day.
The celebration is also supported by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
World Radio Day is an opportunity to celebrate radio and promote international cooperation between broadcasters, as well as to promote freedom of expression.
In 2025, World Radio Day will be dedicated to the theme: “Radio and Climate Change”.
